Prototype Map Sketch
Today I had a meeting with Dana Lee, faculty advisor for my final thesis project. He loved the idea! We discussed the project and sketched a preliminary map for the prototype, which was extremely helpful as it brought forward all the connecting points as well as the gaps between the technologies proposed for the production and distribution of the show.
I mentioned to him that I had discussed this idea with a group of junior high and high school students and 90% of them said, “That’s cool! You can really do that!” I also shared my inspiration and motivation for producing such an innovative show, something that has never been done before.
Dana has asked me to look into the following before I meet with him again in three weeks:
- Research and find out why is it “Cool” and would it stay that way.
- What technologies already exist out there and how accessible are they for producers as well as consumers (interactive audience in my case).
- Remap the sketch for the prototype and meet with Brad Fortner, Operations Manager at the Rogers Communication Centre to discuss the project and get access to all the gadgets available at Ryerson University. Eventually “play” with all the “cool” features and see how it will work for the show.
- Further look into sociological theories and demographics that relate to the show. And clarify why issues like generational change, technology and most importantly voyeurism motivate and inspire me.
Well, I need to get back to work, I mean play! For the first time in my life I can say:
I LOVE SCHOOL, I LOVE RESEARCH!
Even though I am openly discussing my research and introducing various components of the show, I’ll wait until the project is ready to be launched before revealing all the major details about it, which will let the whole world know what I am producing.
Until then, stay tuned!
